About this category
A Greek range built for professional sourcing
Since 1984, Palimex has selected references for HoReCa, delicatessen and collective catering professionals sourced directly from their region of origin — Crete, the Peloponnese, Macedonia. This "Tastes of Greece" range completes our wholesale delicatessen offer with signature products: feta, olives, olive oil, Cretan honey, halva, Turkish delight and dairy. Every reference ships in professional packaging (carton, catering jar, bucket), designed for kitchen turnover or delicatessen shelf rotation rather than single-unit retail sale.
We source directly from cooperatives and Greek houses we have known for more than forty years, guaranteeing our HoReCa clients full traceability, from orchard or press to the carton delivered on pallet.
Greek cheese and dairy: feta, halloumi, strained yoghurt
Feta sits at the centre of our Greek offer: the Karalis reference in cubes (6x1 kg or 4x2 kg) suits slicing in a collective-catering kitchen, while Dodoni in brine (8x200 g) or cubed (9x500 g) meets the needs of a delicatessen looking for a ready-to-resell format. Dodoni halloumi (10x225 g), a grilling cheese, rounds out the Mediterranean grill menu for restaurants. Dodoni strained Greek yoghurt (6x1 kg or 5 kg bucket) lets kitchens prepare fresh tzatziki or serve a dense plain yoghurt as a starter or dessert — we also offer ready-made tzatziki in a 3.5 kg bucket for kitchens with limited cold-prep capacity.
Oils, honey and olives: the pillars of Hellenic delicatessen
Two olive oils structure our Greek offer, each with a distinct culinary use:
| Reference | Origin / status | Recommended use | Packaging |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kalamata Olive Oil | Peloponnese | High-heat cooking, frying, hot sauces | Carton 12x1 L |
| PDO Sitia Crete Olive Oil | Crete, Protected Designation of Origin | Cold dressing, vinaigrette, plate finishing | Carton 12x50 cl |
| Orino Cretan Honey | Crete | Pastry, plating, delicatessen resale | Carton 12x250 g or 12x400 g |
PDO Sitia carries a Protected Designation of Origin recognised at European level, a guarantee of high polyphenol content and controlled acidity — decisive criteria for volume purchasing at wholesale rates. On the olive side, our Greek range covers green olives, whole or pitted Kalamata, and stuffed versions (garlic, almond) in jars of six 400 g units, sized for delicatessen shelf resale or HoReCa side-dish service. Greek saffron pistils in 1 g jars (carton of 6) complete the range for kitchens working demanding Mediterranean recipes.
Greek sweets and snacking for the HoReCa menu
Our selection extends to traditional sweets: plain, almond or pistachio halva in 400 g tins (cartons of 12), and vanilla, rose-almond or pistachio Turkish delight in 5 kg bags — formats designed for delicatessen bulk sale or end-of-meal platter presentation. For quick-service and Mediterranean snacking, 17 cm Greek pita (packs of 20) and a selection of cheese-stuffed peppers and artichokes in 1.8 to 2 kg jars let you build a coherent mezze menu without adding extra suppliers.
Storage, logistics and minimum order
As with our entire B2B catalogue, ordering Greek specialities is subject to a minimum packaging of 5 kg per reference and ships by pallet or carriage-paid above an order threshold, delivered directly to professional kitchens or delicatessen warehouses. Feta and strained yoghurts must stay in continuous cold chain (0-4°C) from receipt; oils and honey keep at stable room temperature, away from light — above 25°C, Cretan honey crystallises faster, which does not affect quality but changes its presentation in the jar. Every batch is traced by lot number and best-before date in line with HACCP requirements applicable to commercial and collective catering. Ordering ahead of peak periods — Easter, the summer terrace season, end-of-year festivities — is worth planning for feta, olives and honey, since demand on Greek references rises sharply across HoReCa and delicatessen buyers at the same time each year, so confirming volumes a few weeks in advance helps secure stock.
